Kobleve – Beyond the beach, towards the Tiligul Estuary

Kobleve, in southern Ukraine, was known for summer days by the Black Sea. Before the full-scale Russian invasion, tourism was the community’s main income. Today, parts of the coastline are unsafe and access to the sea is restricted. But Kobleve is not standing still. It is choosing to act today and build new experiences around what is safe and strong: nature.

The community lies between three waters: the Black Sea, the Tiligul Estuary and the Berezan Estuary. The focus is shifting to the Tiligul Estuary: a vast wetland landscape offering birdlife, open skies, and peaceful routes. Here, visitors can enjoy birdwatching, walk green trails, and explore a quieter side of the region.

Local taste is also part of the story. Kobleve sits on the 46th parallel, like Beaujolais in France, and winemaking is a regional pride. Food and wine experiences help travellers connect with the place and support local producers.

At the same time, the community is working on practical everyday steps: better waste sorting, cleaner water actions, and energy-saving solutions. Local residents are involved in new activities, so tourism supports people as well as the place.

Travellers help this shift happen. By choosing these experiences, visitors support local businesses, value and protect nature, and help rebuild confidence in the future, step by step.
